One of the fun things about being a woman in her early thirties, you are no longer trying to win someone’s approval because you have accomplished a lot of things in your twenties. You are no longer required to act like a grown-up because you are matured, you have been there and done that. And when you find happiness it simply keeps you young.
So, what makes me happy recently? Sweet question. I will share with you below. But these are not a ‘daily-task’ agenda but more like what I believe will add value to my personal life.
I am no longer waiting for people to invite me. I INVITE THEM. If an old friend won’t visit me for whatever issues, I try to drop in on them. I am no longer ‘emo’ when someone have forgotten me.
I think it is important to reconnect and freshen up friendship. I’m also became open to new friendship unlike before that I’m only comfortable to hang out with old friends.
I’m not a heavy drinker. In fact, I hate whiskey! The smells of whiskey are too masculine, woody and some brands are smelly. I’m a girly-girl type of chic, so I only prefer light red and white wine, or rosé sparkling wine. I like the sweet smell and the feminine taste. It will not make me drunk which is good.
I’m responsible in my finances and therefore, shopping is restricted to me. I don’t fancy expensive brands and I definitely don’t buy things I can’t afford. I stick to my budget and I only buy things that are necessary and affordable.
However, despite that I am unable to shop I make sure that I can be stylish by mixing and matching my current and old clothes. Also, I don’t mind to receive or exchange items with my girlfriends. That’s the fun part of having friends around. You can share things with them.
In my age I turn into a workaholic
My social posts don’t justify how I work but believe it or not in my age, I became an economic agent and I take my career more seriously than 10 years ago. And people who are not close to me will hardly notice the transition.
What’s my difference in my twenties and thirties? I am no longer panicking when things screwed up. I used to be a ‘crying baby girl’ when things aren’t fine. Ha ha! Yikes. I hate to admit that but when I asked my friends how did I reacted before when I am unhappy or brokenhearted? 89% of them said, “you cry like a sweet baby and we have to cheer you up.” (insert: so much aawwww).
But now I am more chill, matured, strategist and more organize in my work schedule. I try to manage it well so the pressure will not have a power over me.
I don’t pay attention to bad news
Although bad news are definitely unavoidable but understanding how to react on it is important. I usually open my mind and heart to receiving bad news in my email in the morning with a cup of good homemade latte. Followed by planning and organizing my thoughts on how to response and address the issues. So, my decisions will not be delayed and dragged.
Lastly, I learned not to pay attention to whining or hate posts of people, especially to those ex-lovers who post so much hate about their ex-partner. I believe people can be loud when they are mad, betrayed or hurt. And that’s fine we all have difficulties and different stages of vulnerability but I try not to get those things into me.
Recently, I am cooking for our dinner to avoid fatty foods. I hate to admit it but I was overweight before and I am taking responsibility of my health and weight now. I believe that if I manage my carbs intake, avoid junk foods and I am consistent in workout I will be in better shape. 😊
How about you? What makes you happy?
In my home’s balcony where I love to hang out here to listen to audio book, eat tropical food and enjoy the lovely view.
I made the dinner more fun: roasted spare ribs, German salami, cheese and bread, and sushi.
Home meals are definitely cheaper and healthier version than the meals you can get in a restaurant or deli.
I had fun making this one. Baked sea bass with herbs and spices. You can watch the video below.
Reading a book by the pool makes me relax. If I like a particular chapter, I usually re-read it.
A lovely afternoon-tea with the beautiful Paivikki.
